AUSIM took part in GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023, the continent’s largest event dedicated to Technology and Startups, held in Marrakech, Morocco. With the support of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration ReformGITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023 organized its 1st edition in Marrakech, confirming Morocco’s position as a technology hub in Africa. AUSIM took an active part in this 1st edition of GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023. Its exhibition space was a meeting point for its members, the Moroccan digital ecosystem, its partners and national and international visitors. JUNE 1, 2023. AUSIM’s President, Mr. Hicham Chiguer, participated in a roundtable discussion on June 1 at GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023 entitled “How can Technology be used to advance the Net Zero agenda ?”
At GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023, AUSIM Vice President Mohammed Essaidi took part in two round tables: “Interoperability, the keystone of e-Government”, and “Digital Transition: What prospects for territories ?”.

We were delighted to welcome an African delegation of CIOs to the AUSIM stand at the prestigious GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023 event. A great opportunity to meet and collaborate with leading African CIOs, and explore the exciting possibilities and innovations they bring to the African technology ecosystem, and which will shape tomorrow’s technology landscape in Africa. A unique experience !
AUSIM has had the privilege of inviting several presidents of African CIOS clubs to join the Association to establish contacts and strengthen relations with African countries, including Morocco. The primary objective is to promote mutually beneficial cooperation for the development of information and communication technologies in Africa.

Our Vice President, Mr. Rachid Baarbi, was interviewed by television regarding AUSIM’s participation at GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023. In his interview, Rachid stressed the importance of our presence at this leading technology event and the value we bring to the African technology ecosystem.

In a new episode of AUSITALKS, we were honored to welcome, along with top presenter Hassan charaf, eminent African CIOs and executives as distinguished guests: Lisette Ebonzo, President of the DSI-CLUB Congo, Clément Combary, Group Director of Information Systems at Coris Holding S.A, and President of the Burkina Faso CIO Club, Arnaldo G. Ribeiro, Director of Information Systems at Sococim Industries, President of the CIO Club of Senegal. Jean Claude Sigui, Associate Director – Information Management, WTW. CIOs and African leaders shared their perspectives on fostering stronger relationships between African nations, exploring opportunities for collaboration, and harnessing the power of technology to drive regional growth and development. In addition, our guests looked back at the exceptional GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023 event, discussing its impact on the African technology ecosystem, the opportunities it created and the lessons learned from this great gathering of technology enthusiasts, visionaries and industry leaders.
Another episode of AUSITALKS was filmed at the heart of GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023, on June 2. In this one, we were honored to welcome the former IOC of the Government of Estonia, Mr. Siim Sikkut, who was interviewed by Hassan Charaf. On this occasion, we dived into discussions on GITEX AFRICA, digital transformation, and the journey towards a digitized future.

Organized for the first time in Morocco by Kaoun International, AUSIM’s presence was remarkable, thanks to the hosting of a delegation of African CIOs and the mobilization of its members, friends and partners, strengthening ties and collaboration. We would like to thank the French Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform and the ADD for their support and backing for AUSIM. On the last day of GITEX AFRICA MOROCCO 2023, an AUSIM delegation and an African delegation comprising the presidents of African CIO clubs from Senegal, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Congo visited a number of partners and players in Morocco’s IT and Tech sector. An opportunity for the delegation to discover the latest technological advances and discuss opportunities for collaboration and exchange.
